Rizwan appointed as the vice-captain of Pakistan’s T20I team
Lahore, 8 January 2024: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed Mohammad Rizwan as the vice-captain of the Pakistan Men’s T20I team. Rizwan’s initial responsibility as deputy to Shaheen Shah Afridi will be in the upcoming five-match T20I series against New Zealand, The series will be played from 12 to 21 January in Auckland, Hamilton, Dunedin and Christchurch.
At 31 years old, Rizwan has represented Pakistan in 85 T20Is, accumulating 2,797 runs, which includes a century and 25 half-centuries. Additionally, behind the stumps, Rizwan has taken 41 catches and 11 stumpings.
“It is an honour to be named as the vice-captain of Pakistan Men’s T20I side. I am thankful to the PCB for entrusting me with this responsibility. I am looking forward to working closely with the captain, coaching staff, and my teammates to contribute to the team’s success.” said Muhammad Rizwan expressing his excitement.
