Invincibles defeated Strikers by five wickets in a Women’s National T20 Tournament fixture at the Jawad Cricket Club Ground in Faisalabad on Friday despite a good all-round performance by Tasmia Rubab.

Tasmia, batting at No.10, top-scored for the Strikers with 34 not out from 32 balls with two fours that lifted her side to 99 for nine in 20 overs. She then returned figures of three for 20 but failed to stop the Invincibles achieve victory for the loss of five wickets with 12 balls to spare.

Opener Omaima Sohail hit a match-winning 54 from 45 balls with eight fours and a six, while Natalia Parvaiz contributed a valuable 20 not out from 16 balls with a four and a six.

In the other match of the day at the Bohranwali Ground in Faisalabad, Challengers defeated Stars by six runs.

Batting first, Challengers posted 149 for five with Ayesha Zafar top-scoring with 71 not out from 47 balls with eight fours and three sixes, while opener Komal Khan scored 31 and Arijah Haseeb 25.

For the Stars, Ayesha Rehman was the pick of bowlers with three for 25.

In turn, Stars finished at 143 for six despite half-centuries by Iram Javed and Sadaf Shamas. Iram scored 52 from 36 balls with five fours and three sixes, while Sadaf scored a 46-ball 50 with four fours and three sixes.

The two batters added 75 runs for the second wicket.

For the Challengers, Mahnoor Zeb bagged three wickets for 20 runs.
