Shaun Tait Quietly Appointed Pakistan Fast Bowling Coach
Shaun Tait has been appointed Pakistan’s fast bowling coach for the second time and will take charge from the upcoming T20I series beginning in Rawalpindi on Friday.
Tait previously served as Pakistan’s fast bowling coach in 2022-23 before later joining the Bangladesh cricket team. He replaces Ashley Noffke, who has left the Pakistan setup to become head coach of the Netherlands.
However, the PCB did not formally announce Tait’s appointment. Instead, the former Australia fast bowler’s name appeared in the team management list for Pakistan’s upcoming T20I and ODI assignments against England and Sri Lanka, beginning on 18 October.
The duration of Tait’s tenure has not been disclosed, although he is expected to operate as an all-format fast bowling coach following Noffke’s departure.
Noffke was initially Pakistan’s white-ball bowling coach but subsequently took over as interim red-ball coach after Umar Gul was removed following the Lord’s Test.
Tait represented Australia in three Tests, 35 ODIs and 21 T20Is between 2005 and 2016. Renowned for his express pace during his playing career, he was part of Australia’s title-winning squad at the 2007 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.
