Rizwan extends warm welcome to India, eyes T20 victory over Australia

Ahead of the upcoming T20 series against Australia, Pakistan’s white-ball captain, Muhammad Rizwan, underscored his team’s primary goal; securing victory in the T20 series after winning the ODI series.

Speaking during a practice session at Gabba, where the first T20I of the series will be played, Rizwan expressed confidence in his team’s preparation while acknowledging the unique challenges presented by Australian conditions.

Rizwan also credited coach Jason Gillespie, acknowledging his guidance as key to Pakistan’s recent success.

He also pointed that the contributions made by senior players like Imad Wasim, Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Amir and Iftikhar Ahmed is praiseworthy and they can not be replaced overnight.

“Right now, our focus is on the current series and how we can field the best XI.” He said addressing the playing XI concerns.

When asked about the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 that is to be hosted by Pakistan but Indian team’s visit to Pakistan remains undecided, Rizwan reassured that if Indian players do visit Pakistan they will be warmly welcomed. However, he also acknowledged that the ultimate decision lies with PCB.
