Strikers and Stars qualified for the final of the National Women’s T20 Tournament after claiming the top-two positions in the five-team competition in Faisalabad on Friday.

In their final league matches, Strikers defeated Conquerors by 60 runs in a low-scoring fixture, while Stars recorded a last-over victory against Invincibles by seven wickets.

At the Jawad Cricket Club Ground, Strikers batted first and managed 123 for six, thanks to a fighting 63 not out from opener Najiha Alvi from 52 balls with eight fours and a six. Omaima Sohail scored a 30-ball 36 with two fours and two sixes as the two batters added 58 runs for the third wicket.

For Conquerors, Ghulam Fatima was the star bowler, returning figures of 4-0-14-4.

In turn, Conquerors were skittled out for 63 in 14.1 overs with openers Ravail Farhan (22) and Aliya Riaz (13) reaching double-figures. Omaima Sohail, Neelam Mushtaq, Tania Saeed and Rameen Shamim took two wickets apiece.

Najiha Alvi was later adjudged player of the match.

At the Bohranwali Ground, Eyman Fatima struck 12 fours and three sixes in a 65-ball 85 and dominated a 115-run second wicket stand with Syeda Aroob Shah (29) to lift Invincibles from two for one to 140 for six in 20 overs. Diana Baig and Tuba Hassan collected two wickets apiece.

In turn, Sadaf Shamas scored 59 not out from 52 balls with six fours and two sixes, while Iram Javed scored a 35-ball 47 with five fours and two sixes as Stars achieved the target with seven wickets and four balls to spare. Sadaf and Iram put on 76 runs for the second wicket.

For Invincibles, Tasmia Rubab took two wickets for 19 runs.

Sadaf Shamas was later named player of the match.
