Pakistan U19 Suffer 90-run Defeat In Acc Asia Cup
LAHORE: Pakistan U19 suffered a 90-run defeat against India U19 in the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup at the ICC Academy in Dubai on Sunday.
Chasing a target of 241, Pakistan were dismissed for 150 in 41.2 overs after slumping to 30 for four. Huzaifa Ahsan (70 off 83 balls, 9 fours, 2 sixes) and Farhan Yousuf (23 off 34 balls, 2 fours, 1 six) added 47 runs for the fourth wicket, as the last six wickets contributed 120 runs.
For India, Deepesh Devendran wrecked the middle order with figures of 3 for 16, while Kanishk Chouhan (3 for 33) and Kishan Singh (2 for 33) also bowled well.
Earlier, Kanishk Chouhan scored a run-a-ball 46, hitting two fours and three sixes, steering India to 240 all out in 46.1 overs after his side had wobbled at 113 for four. Aaron George scored a fine 85 off 88 balls, with 12 fours and a six, and put on 60 runs for the fifth wicket with Abhigyan Kundu (22) before Chouhan took charge.
For Pakistan, Abdul Subhan (3 for 42), Mohammad Sayam (3 for 67) and Niqab Shafiq (2 for 38) shared the wickets.
Pakistan will face the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday at the ICC Academy for a place in the semi-finals.
