LAHORE: Ghani Glass surprised a fancied SNGPL by one wicket and defending champions State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) suffered their third defeat in the fourth round of the President’s One-Day Tournament on Sunday.

At the UBL Sports Complex, Tayyab Tahir (49), Hussain Talat (36), and Shahbaz Javed (32) led Ghani Glass’s victory charge as they achieved the 225-run target with nine balls and one wicket to spare.

Earlier, SNGPL’s 221 all out in 46.2 overs revolved around Azan Awais’s 52, Saad Khan’s 44, and Aamir Jamal’s quickfire 36 not out as Ghani Glass’s Shoaib Akhtar took three for 19 and Ubaid Shah bagged three for 42.

At the KCCA Stadium, defending champions SBP were dismissed for 162 in 40.1 overs with Mohammad Ghazi Ghori top-scoring with 36. For KRL, Arshad Iqbal was the pick of the bowlers with four for 31, while Saqib Khan took two for 31.

In turn, KRL romped to victory in 33.4 overs, losing only one wicket, with opener Shahzaib Khan and Iftikhar Ahmed returning unbeaten on 69 and 50, respectively, after Saad Baig had scored a quick 43.

At the Oval Academy, Maaz Sadaqat and Imam-ul-Haq scored centuries and shared a 159-run opening stand to mastermind OGDCL’s 67-run victory over WAPDA. Maaz scored 110 from 65 balls with seven fours and 10 sixes, and Imam scored 108 from 111 balls with seven fours and two sixes as OGDCL posted 380 for eight.

In turn, WAPDA were restricted to 313 for eight by Adil Amin (four for 42) and Haroon Arshad (two for 11). Bismillah Khan (77, 73b, 8×4), Ahmed Safi Abdullah (60, 68b, 3×4, 3×6), and Mohammad Naeem (50, 30b, 8×4, 2×6) batted well.

At the Naya Nazimabad Ground, Faham-ul-Haq hit a boundary when the scores were tied to complete a century and guide Sahir Associates to a five-wicket victory over PTV. Faham scored 100 not out off 122 balls with seven fours and a six as Sahir Associates achieved the 208-run target for the loss of five wickets in 46.5 overs.

Earlier, Razaullah took three for 44, and Hafiz Mohammad Suleman and Mohammad Afzal bagged two wickets each to bowl PTV out for 207 in 49.5 overs. Taimur Khan (73) and Mohammad Mohsin (34) were the main run-scorers.
