LAHORE: Abdul Subhan and Ali Raza shared seven wickets between them before Sameer Minhas struck an unbeaten half-century as Pakistan Men’s U19 defeated New Zealand Men’s U19 in a Super Six clash of the ICC Men’s U19 Cricket World Cup 2026 in Harare on Tuesday.

Subhan returned exceptional figures of 6.3-3-11-4, while Ali recorded figures of 7-2-36-3 as New Zealand were bundled out for 110 in 28.3 overs after being put into bat. Sameer Minhas then spearheaded the chase, smashing an unbeaten 76 off 70 balls – including 10 fours and two sixes – as Pakistan sprinted to the target in just 17.1 overs.

The convincing victory keeps Pakistan’s semi-final hopes alive. Having progressed to the Super Six stage with a two-point carryover, Pakistan sits third in the group with four points and a net run-rate of +1.484. India and England currently share the No.1 spot with six points each, but India have a superior net run-rate of +3.337 as compared to England’s +1.989.

The result sets the stage for a high-stakes encounter on Sunday, where Pakistan will face India in a must-win match in Bulawayo.

Earlier, New Zealand had made a promising start, reaching 59 for one within eight overs before a dramatic collapse saw them capitulate for 110. The Kiwis lost their final nine wickets for just 51 runs in a span of 21 overs.

Ali Raza provided the initial breakthrough before Mohammad Sayyam (1-35) ended a dangerous 48-run second-wicket partnership between Hugo Bogue (39) and Tom Jones (15). Abdul Subhan then turned a crack into a floodgate, bowling with devastating accuracy and hostility. Subhan’s destructive spell triggered the middle-order slide, as New Zealand crumbled from 59 for one to 84 for eight.

A brief ninth-wicket stand of 21 between Mason Clarke (17) and Hunter Shore (13) offered minor resistance before the innings folded.

In reply, Sameer Minhas made short work of the modest target. His clean and precise hitting dominated the New Zealand attack, particularly during a 67-run second-wicket stand with Usman Khan (15), where Minhas contributed the lion’s share of the runs.
