Pakistan Outclass South Africa to Win ODI Series
In the second ODI of the three-match series, Pakistan secured a series win by defeating South Africa by 81 runs.
South Africa, after opting to bowl first, started strong by dismissing Abdullah Shafique for a duck. Saim Ayub, who had been the hero in the previous match with a century, could only manage 25 runs this time. Pakistan’s recovery was orchestrated by the Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. Their stable partnership laid the foundation, with Babar scoring 73 and Rizwan contributing 80.
The innings gained momentum in the death overs, thanks to a scintillating knock by Kamran Ghulam. His explosive 63 off just 32 deliveries powered Pakistan to a challenging total of 329.
Chasing a target of 330, South Africa opened with Tony de Zorzi and captain Temba Bavuma, but Bavuma was dismissed early by Naseem Shah. By the time they reached 113, South Africa had lost four wickets with minimal progress. Heinrich Klaasen injected the much-needed firepower into the innings but fell short of his century, departing for 97 off Naseem’s bowling.
Pakistan eventually bowled South Africa out for 248, securing an 81-run victory. Shaheen Afridi claimed four wickets, while Naseem Shah took three.
