LAHORE: Pakistan and India registered identical eight-wicket victories in reduced-overs ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup semi-finals in Dubai on Friday to set up a high-profile final at the ICC Academy.

Pakistan beat Bangladesh by eight wickets at The Sevens Stadium in a 27-over match, while India also defeated Sri Lanka by eight wickets at the ICC Academy Ground in a match reduced to 20 overs per side due to wet outfield conditions. The two sides will meet for the second time in the event, following India’s 90-run win in their league match on 14 December.

Pakistan’s Abdul Subhan took four for 20 and Huzaifa Ahsan bagged two for 10 as Bangladesh were spun out for 121 in 26.3 overs. Sameer Minhas then scored 69 not out off 57 balls, with six fours and two sixes, to help Pakistan race to victory in 16.3 overs for the loss of two wickets. Sameer added 85 runs for the second wicket with Usman Khan, who contributed 27.

In the other semi-final, India’s Vihaan Malhotra (61 not out, 45b, 4×4, 2×6) and Aaron George (58 not out, 49b, 4×4, 1×6) put on an unbeaten 114-run stand for the third wicket to help India reach the 139-run target with 12 balls and eight wickets to spare.
