Hasnain, Aftab Shine On Weather-Affected Opening Day
Opener Hasnain Nadeem of MIT Solutions struck an unbeaten 87, while OGDCL’s Aftab Ahmed claimed a five-wicket haul as rain and bad weather disrupted the opening day of the fifth round of the President’s Trophy Grade-I on Tuesday.
At the Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium, Hasnain was unbeaten on 87 as MIT Solutions reached 186 for eight in 53 overs after electing to bat first against OGDCL.
Hasnain received good support from Mohammad Farooq, who scored 56, while Aftab was OGDCL’s standout bowler with figures of five for 39. Mohammad Salman took two for 20.
At the Abbottabad Cricket Stadium, Ghani Glass were left struggling at 67 for seven in 21.5 overs after being sent in by Pakistan Television (PTV).
Kashif Ali claimed three wickets for 30 runs, while Israr Hussain took two for five and Haris Rauf two for 28. Hashim Ibrahim, with 34, was the only Ghani Glass batter to offer significant resistance.
At the Diamond Cricket Ground, only seven overs were possible, with Kingsmen Academy reaching 31 for one against Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL).
No toss was possible at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium, where Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) were scheduled to face table-leaders State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
