Azan Awais and Shan Masood showed early form as Pakistan reached 184 for two on a rain-curtailed opening day of the four-day non-first-class practice match against West Indies Select at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba on Saturday.

Azan Awais was batting on 78 from 189 balls with nine fours on a day when only 60 overs were possible, while captain Babar Azam was batting on 14 from 43 balls with two fours.

Shan Masood also had a good outing, scoring 70 from 100 balls with 10 fours. Together with Azan, Shan put on 108 runs for the second wicket after Imam-ul-Haq had departed at the score of 39, having made 10 from 36 balls.

The first Test will be played at the same venue from 25 July.
