Wapda Reach 233-6 On Day One Of President’s Trophy Final
LAHORE: WAPDA were 233 for six at stumps on the opening day of the five-day President’s Trophy final against SNGPL at the Gaddafi Stadium here on Sunday.
When play ended, Bismillah Khan was batting on 48 (76b, 6 x 4) and Naqeebullah was one not out. Other notable run-scorers for WAPDA were Ayaz Tasawar, who scored a 108-ball 57 with five fours, Imran Dogar (38) and Mohammad Ammar (31).
After an opening 50-run partnership between Imran and Mohammad Akhlaq (16), WAPDA slipped to 81 for three before Ammar and Ayaz put on 67 runs for the fourth wicket. Ayaz was involved in another useful 59-run fifth-wicket partnership with Bismillah that lifted WAPDA from 148 for four to 207 for five.
For SNGPL, Test all-rounder Aamir Jamal was the most successful bowler with three for 62, while Pakistan international Shahnawaz Dahani bagged two for 33.
