Strikers Finish 3rd, Zim Women To Tour Pakistan
LAHORE: Strikers defeated Conquerors by 20 runs in the third-fourth place play-off of the National Women’s T20 Tournament at the LCCA Ground on Saturday.
Batting first, Strikers scored 144 for seven with Nashra Sandhu top-scoring with 32 not out, while Najiha Alvi scored 30. Sadaf Shams (29) and Areesha Ansari (23) were the other notable contributors.
For the Conquerors, Mahnoor Aftab (two for 17), Noor-ul-Iman (two for 19) and Fatima Sana (two for 27) shared the wickets.
In reply, Conquerors finished at 124 for six, falling 20 runs short. Yusra Amin top-scored with a 26-ball 35 not out, including five fours, while Hafsa Khalid scored 23. For the Strikers, Zaib-un-Nisa Niaz was the pick of the bowlers with three for 18.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board has announced that the Zimbabwe women’s team will tour Pakistan for three T20Is and three ICC Women’s Championship 2025-29 ODIs from May 3 to 15.
All six matches will be played at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi. The ODIs are scheduled for May 3, 6 and 9, while the T20Is will follow on May 12, 14 and 15.
