Sngpl Win After Shehzad Gul’s 11-wicket Haul; Amad’s 10-fer And Musa’s Hat-trick Earn Ptv Come From Behind Victory
LAHORE: SNPGL defeated State Bank of Pakistan by 48 runs on the fourth and final morning of the President’s Trophy third round action at the State Bank Stadium on Monday.
Fast bowler Shehzad Gul played havoc with the leather when he followed up his 11.4-1-37-5 with 16-4-54-6 to rout State Bank for 175 after they had started the day at 170 for eight in pursuit of 224 runs victory target.
Shehzad had figures of five for 49 on Sunday and added the scalp of overnight batter Qasim Akram (37), while Shahnawaz Dahani dismissed last-man Mohammad Ismail to finish with three for 27 after grabbing four for 23 in the first innings.
On Sunday, SNGPL were bundled out for 75 in their second innings but thanks to their 148-run first innings lead, they enjoyed an overall lead of 223, which proved to be a winning one
SBP’s Niaz Khan, who took two for 45 in the first innings, had brought his team right back in the match with impressive figures of 15.3-6-38-5, while Mohammad Ismail and Mohammad Abbas had collected two wickets apiece.

Fast bowler Amad Butt completed a match haul of 10 wickets and Mohammad Musa Khan recorded a hat-trick as defending champions PTV defeated Ghani Glass by 88 runs at the National Bank Stadium.
After Amad destroyed the top-order with figures of 7-0-29-6, Musa conceded 10 runs off his first three deliveries before picking up three successive wickets as Ghani Glass, set a modest 157-run target, were sent packing for 68 in only 14 overs.
Amad, who had returned first innings figures of 14.2-3-51-4, had reduced Ghani Glass to 23 for seven before Noman Ali (23 not out) and Khurram Shahzad (22) added 45 runs for the eighth wicket. The partnership ended when Musa clean bowled Khurram, then trapped Mir Hamza leg before wicket before having Afaq Afridi caught by Taimur Khan to complete a rare achievement.
Earlier, PTV, who had conceded a 37-run first innings lead, added 40 runs to their overnight score of 153 for seven to be bowled out for 193. No.7 batter Arafat Minhas (34) and No.9 batter Musa (32 not out) made valuable contributions down the order.
Mir Hamza with four for 54 was the pick of the Ghani Glass bowlers, while Noman Ali and Khurram Shahzad took two wickets apiece.
As expected, WAPDA completed an innings and 32 runs victory over debutants Sahir Associates at the UBL Sports Complex.
Mohammad Zeeshan followed up his three for 23 with figures of 18-4-66-6 as Sahir Associates, resuming this morning at 94 for five and needing another 126 runs to make WAPDA bat again, were bowled out for 188. Mohammad Adil, who took four for 24 in the first innings, picked up three for 65.
For Sahir Associates, No.9 batter Mohammad Mohsin Khan was the top scorer with a 53-ball 51 that included six fours and three sixes.
At the National Bank Complex, Mohammad Sarwar Afridi kept OGDCL hope alive against KRL when he was batting on 90 from 130 balls with eight fours and three sixes when play ended. He had added 64 runs for the unfinished sixth wicket partnership with Adil Amin (33 not out) to lift OGDCL from 135 for five to 199 for five at stumps – an overall lead of 96 runs with five wickets remaining.
Earlier, KRL had resumed on the Sunday morning at 305 for five in reply to OGDCL’s 244 and were dismissed for 347. KRL’s Imran Rafiq, who started the day at 54, was dismissed after scoring 77 from 197 balls with seven fours, while OGDCL’s Adil Amin finished with three for 33.
