Sngpl, Wapda Edge Closer To President’s Trophy Final After Krl Concede Big First Innings Lead
LAHORE: President’s Trophy co-leaders SNGPL and WAPDA edged closer to qualifying for the final despite disappointing performances in the final round action after their closest rivals, KRL, conceded a big first-innings lead on Tuesday.
SNGPL were just 92 runs ahead with four wickets standing against OGDCL, while WAPDA were 282 for five in reply to State Bank’s 394 when play ended on the second day. However, KRL, who were just 17 points behind SNGPL and WAPDA and could have gate-crashed the party with a strong performance against Ghani Glass, were on the receiving end after Ghani Glass secured a 154-run first-innings lead with one wicket still intact.
If KRL falls to Ghani Glass, then SNGPL and WAPDA will progress to the five-day final, which will be held at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore from 8 February.
