Salman Ali Agha made his bat do the talking in an emphatic fashion, scoring an unbeaten triple-century to help Kingsmen Academy declare their first innings at 565 for seven against MIT Solutions on the second day of the first-round action in the President’s Trophy in Abbottabad on Sunday.

Salman, who was unceremoniously released from the Pakistan team after the Lord’s Test, resumed this morning on 101 with Kingsmen Academy 257 for three and was unbeaten on 300 when the declaration came at 131.1 overs. When play ended, MIT Solutions had reached 179 for three in 31 overs.

Salman batted for 472 minutes and faced 336 balls, striking 42 fours and six sixes. This was his 18th three-figure score in 109th match.

Mohammad Suleman, who resumed on 83, was dismissed for 115 from 219 balls, with 13 fours and two sixes. He was involved in a 274-run fourth-wicket partnership with Salman that laid the foundation for Kingsmen Academy’s imposing total after they had slipped to 72 for three.

At the Diamond Cricket Ground, Haris Rauf took four for 21 as OGDCL struggled to 90 for five after Pakistan Television were dismissed for 400, having resumed on 131 for three.

PTV’s total was built around Mohammad Taha’s 134 and Sharoon Siraj’s 92, with the pair adding 161 runs for the fourth wicket. Taha’s 234-ball innings included 17 fours and two sixes, while Sharoon struck 10 fours and four sixes in a 155-ball knock.

Imran Rafiq scored his eighth first-class century, making 129 to help Khan Research Laboratory (KRL) declare their first innings at 547 for nine. When play ended at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar, Ghani Glass had reached 200 for five, with Haseebullah unbeaten on 50 and Ali Razzaq on 20.

Imran’s 176-ball innings included 19 fours. He had resumed the day on 95.

Asim Ali Nasir, who had been unbeaten on 51 overnight, was dismissed for 87, an innings that included 10 fours and two sixes. Shaheen Shah Afridi scored 47 and Mohammad Junaid 43 to provide useful contributions.

At the Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium, Ahmad Safi Abdullah and Khan Zeb took three wickets apiece, while Shehzad Gul claimed two, as SNGPL dismissed State Bank of Pakistan for 158 before closing the day on 161 for five.

Mubasir Khan was unbeaten on 62 and provided the bulk of SBP’s resistance. For SNGPL, Omair Bin Yousuf made 49, while Awais Zafar scored 26 and Sameer Minhas 24.

When play ended, SNGPL captain Abdul Samad was unbeaten on 24 alongside Zaid Bin Nadeem on 17.
