Pakistan bowling coach Ashley Noffke has become the latest member of the team’s backroom staff to depart, following the announcement that he will take over as head coach of the Netherlands men’s cricket team after the 20th Asian Games. The announcement was made by the Royal Dutch Cricket Association (KNCB), while the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has remained silent.

“I’m looking forward to working with the Dutch men’s team, which has become a fixture at the T20 World Cups,” the KNCB quoted Noffke as saying. “This is a talented, motivated group, and my goal is to help continue that development and move the programme forward. My approach starts with connection, before the tactic or the plan. I can’t wait to get started.”

Notably, Noffke neither thanked the PCB nor reflected on his tenure, which began in May 2025. During his stint, Pakistan reached the final of the ACC Asia Cup T20 and the Super Eight stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

Noffke joins a growing list of recent staff departures, including fielding coach Shane McDermott, batting coach Hanif Malik, and physiotherapist Cliffe Deacon. He had previously been appointed interim red-ball bowling coach after the PCB sacked Umar Gul alongside head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed.

The 49-year-old former Australian international built a distinguished first-class career representing Queensland, Western Australia, four English counties (Durham, Middlesex, Gloucestershire, and Worcestershire), and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the historic inaugural IPL match in 2008.

Over his career, Noffke scored 3,766 first-class runs and took 386 wickets, remaining one of only three Australians to achieve the domestic season double of 500 runs and 50 wickets.
