Hasan Raza struck an unbeaten double-century and Abdullah Fazal an unconquered 168 as State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) sent Ghani Glass on a leather chase on the second day of the third round of the President’s Trophy Grade-I at the National Ground in Islamabad.

Hasan was unbeaten on 204 and Abdullah on 168 as the pair carried SBP to 378 without loss in 68 overs — the sixth-highest opening partnership in Pakistan’s domestic first-class cricket.

Hasan’s career-best 204 has come from 293 balls and includes 28 fours and two sixes, while Abdullah has faced 207 deliveries and struck 19 fours and four sixes.

Earlier, Ghani Glass resumed their first innings at 263 for six and were bowled out for 322. Ali Razzaq, who resumed on 62, completed his century before being dismissed for 101 from 129 balls with 13 fours and three sixes.

At the Abbottabad Cricket Stadium, KRL progressed from their overnight 202 for five to 377 for eight against OGDCL after only 49 overs of play were possible.

Sarmad Bhatti, who started the day unbeaten on 48, was 122 not out at stumps after completing his 14th first-class century, while Faheem Ashraf struck 83 as the pair added 145 runs for the seventh wicket. Sarmad has faced 198 balls and struck 21 fours, while Faheem’s 100-ball innings included 16 fours.

For OGDCL, Mohammad Hasnain and Razaullah added one wicket apiece to their overnight tallies to finish the day with three and two wickets, respectively.

At the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar, fancied SNGPL were in trouble at 32 for three after MIT Solutions declared their first innings at 434 for nine. SNGPL battered dismissed were Azan Awais (14), Sameer Minhas (4) and Abdullah Shafique (2).

MIT Solutions had resumed at 258 for three, with overnight centurion Atiq-ur-Rehman adding two runs to his 136 before being dismissed for 138. Syed Awad Naqvi, who started on 65, went on to score 78.

The lower order then ensured MIT Solutions posted an imposing total. Mohammad Ismail and Abuzar Tariq scored 35 apiece, while Samana Riaz made 33 and Khalid Usman remained unbeaten on 33.

For SNGPL, Mohammad Imran Randhawa finished with three for 54, while Naseem Shah and Mohammad Azab claimed two wickets apiece.

At the Diamond Cricket Ground, Test opener Mohammad Huraira struck an unbeaten century and shared a 186-run second-wicket partnership with Mohammad Suleman as Kingsmen Academy reached 237 for two in reply to PTV’s 355.

Huraira was unbeaten on 133 — his 12th first-class century — from 225 balls with 20 fours. Suleman scored 71 from 122 balls with four fours and three sixes.

Both wickets were claimed by Kashif Ali, who finished the day with two for 57.

Earlier, PTV added 70 runs to their overnight 285 for seven before being dismissed for 355.

Mohammad Ilyas completed the only five-wicket haul of the third round so far, finishing with five for 129. Mohammad Umar and Shoaib Afridi claimed two wickets apiece.
