Abdullah Shafique has been named as Abdullah Fazal’s replacement, while Saud Shakeel has also been added to the Pakistan cricket team currently touring the West Indies.

Fazal was ruled out of the five Tests against West Indies and England after he suffered a back injury while preparing for the first Test, which commenced on Saturday. Saud was expected to join the side in England, but those plans have been fast-tracked after he was declared fit.

Shafique has played 24 Tests since making his debut against Bangladesh in 2021 and has scored 1,610 runs with five centuries and six half-centuries. His last Test was against South Africa in Rawalpindi in October 2025.

The second Test in Port of Spain will commence on 2 August, while the Tests in England will be played at Leeds, Lord’s and Edgbaston.
