National T20 Stars Eyed for New Zealand Series Selection
The PCB selection committee, led by Chief Selector Wahab Riaz, is set to convene in Lahore on December 13 to discuss and finalise selections for the upcoming T20I series against New Zealand.
The committee meeting will be headed by Wahab Riaz with members including Tauseef Ahmed, Wajahatullah Wasti and Wasim Haider. Consultant members include Kamran Akmal and Rao Iftikhar Anjum. Alongside Hassan Muzaffar Cheema will join as the Manager analytics and team strategy.
The selection panel will evaluate performances in the current National T20 Cup 2023-24 in Karachi. The T20I probable players will kick off their training camp at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore on December 25th providing a platform for honing skills and finalising the team composition.
The National T20 Cup has witnessed captivating displays of skill from local talents. Sahibzada Farhan leads the run charts with an impressive 356 runs, boasting a 44.5 average and a striking 176 strike rate. Azam Khan, in his stellar T20 year, has amassed 931 runs in 43 matches during 2023, maintaining a remarkable strike rate of 156.
The announcement of the New Zealand T20I series’ final squad is anticipated on January 2, 2024. The T20i series begins on January 12 2024.
