LAHORE: Opener Muneeba Ali stroked her third career half-century but ended up on the losing side as Ireland Women defeated Pakistan Women by seven wickets in the third match of the tri-nation T20I series in Dublin on Sunday. It was Pakistan’s second successive defeat following their loss to the West Indies on Friday, while it was Ireland’s maiden victory in the tournament after an eight-wicket defeat to the West Indies on Thursday.

Muneeba scored 65 off 41 balls with eight fours and three sixes to help Pakistan post 176 for six after electing to bat first. However, openers Amy Hunter and Rebecca Stokell struck impressive half-centuries, and captain Orla Prendergast played a decisive cameo as Ireland reached their target for the loss of three wickets with five balls to spare. Pakistan lead the all-time head-to-head against Ireland 23-16.

Hunter scored 56 off 44 balls with seven fours and a six, while Stokell remained unbeaten on 60 off 42 balls with seven fours. With Ireland requiring 82 from 49 balls when Hunter departed at 95 for two in the 12th over, Stokell and Prendergast put on 77 runs from 40 balls for the third wicket to seal the chase. Prendergast contributed a brisk 33 off 17 balls with six fours.

Even in a losing cause, Muneeba’s innings was an important one that will give both her and the side confidence ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. Notably, the last time she faced Ireland — in last year’s series — she scored 100 not out, her second T20I century.

Gull Feroza also showed encouraging form, scoring 36 off 15 balls with six fours and completely dominating a 44-run first-wicket stand with Muneeba as Pakistan collected 56 runs in the PowerPlay.

Muneeba then anchored an 88-run third-wicket partnership off 55 balls with Saira Jabeen, who followed up her 30 against the West Indies two days earlier with 36 off 33 balls with four fours. Captain Fatima Sana rounded off the innings with a brisk 21 off 14 balls with two fours as Pakistan plundered 42 runs in the last four overs.
