LAHORE: Muneeba Ali and Fatima Sana played match-winning innings as two more matches were decided in the National Women’s T20 at the Ghani Glass Cricket Ground on Sunday. Both matches were reduced to 16 overs per side due to overnight rain and a wet outfield.

Muneeba scored 79 not out as Invincibles defeated Challengers by four wickets with two balls to spare, while Fatima Sana continued her purple patch with the bat, scoring 78 as Conquerors defeated Stars by 56 runs. This was Fatima’s third half-century in four matches, which has put her at the top of the batting chart with 236 runs from four matches.

In the first match, Challengers batted first and posted 151 for eight. Eyman Fatima top-scored with 53 not out off 29 balls with eight fours and a six, while openers Eman Naseer and Yusra Ahtesham scored 30 and 29 respectively, adding 64 for the first wicket.

In reply, Muneeba Ali led Invincibles’ run-chase with an unbeaten 79 off 50 balls with 10 fours and two sixes. Gull Feroza dominated the 47-run opening partnership, scoring 31 off 12 balls with five fours and a six. After the Invincibles slipped from 47 for no loss to 115 for six, Muneeba held the innings together with Amber Kainat to see her side home.

In the second match, Fatima Sana scored 78 off 34 balls with nine fours and four sixes to lift Conquerors to 157 for nine. After the Conquerors were reduced to 47 for five, Fatima put on 82 for the sixth wicket with Hafsa Khalid, who scored 31 off 20 balls with five fours.

In reply, the Stars were restricted to 101 for nine. Kaynat Hafeez top-scored with 35, while Tuba Hasan followed up her two for 29 with a handy 24.

For Conquerors, Ghulam Fatima was the pick of the bowlers with three for 22, while Hafsa Khalid completed a fine all-round display by adding two for 16 to her earlier 31.
