LAHORE: Invincibles and Conquerors recorded convincing victories in the National Women’s T20 on Thursday. Invincibles defeated Stars by eight wickets at the Bagh-e-Jinnah, while Conquerors beat Strikers by 18 runs at the Ghani Glass Cricket Ground.

The highlights of the two matches were excellent bowling by Momina Riasat, Saima Malik and Rabia Hani, and fine batting by Fatima Sana, Aliya Riaz and Komal Khan.

At the Bagh-e-Jinnah, Stars were bowled out for 64 in 13.4 overs with Momina Riasat and Saima Malik taking four wickets each. Momina returned figures of 3.4-1-10-4, while Saima finished with 3-1-12-4.

In reply, Iram Javed scored a 15-ball 32 not out with four fours and two sixes, and Maham Anees scored a run-a-ball 22 not out with four fours as the Invincibles crossed the line in 7.2 overs for the loss of two wickets.

At the Ghani Glass Cricket Ground, Fatima Sana followed up her 33-ball 91 not out in the previous match with a 36-ball 67 not out to help Conquerors post 177 for nine. Fatima’s innings included five fours and five sixes. Komal Khan was the other notable run-scorer with a 19-ball 43 that included eight fours and a six.

In reply, Strikers finished at 159 for nine, falling 18 runs short. Aliya Riaz top-scored with a 29-ball 52 containing two fours and four sixes. Dua Majid scored 24.

For the Conquerors, Anosha Nasir picked up three for 19, while Hafsa Khalid took two for 10.
