Mahnoor Takes Three, Komal Hits 50 in Pakistan Win
Fast bowler Mahnoor Zeb and opener Komal Khan produced impressive performances as Pakistan U19 Women defeated Sri Lanka U19 Women by five wickets in the second match of the tri-nation series in Faisalabad on Saturday.
Mahnoor returned figures of three for 18 and Memoona Khalid claimed two for 18 as Sri Lanka posted 124 for nine in their 20 overs. Nethmi Upeksha top-scored with 39, while Vimoksha Balasooriya contributed 27 and Pramudi Methsara scored 20.
In reply, Pakistan reached the 125-run target for the loss of five wickets with six balls to spare.
Komal anchored the chase with a 59-ball 50 that included seven fours. She added 74 runs for the second wicket with Zoofishan Ayyaz, who scored 38 from 41 balls with three fours.
Fizza Fiaz contributed 13, while Shahar Bano followed up her one for 33 with an unbeaten 11 from just four balls, hitting a four and a six to help Pakistan complete the chase.
The victory gave Pakistan their first win of the series after their 30-run defeat against Bangladesh in Friday’s opening match. Sri Lanka will face Bangladesh in the third match of the series on Monday.
