LAHORE: Pakistan will tour Bangladesh immediately after the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 to play three ODIs, which will launch their preparations for next year’s ICC Men’s 50-over Cricket World Cup 2027 to be held in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.

The T20 World Cup final will be played on 8 March and Pakistan, irrespective of whether they feature in the final or not, will travel to Dhaka on 9 March, train on 10 March, and then play the ODIs on 11, 13, and 15 March at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. According to the Future Tours Programme, this was originally intended to be a full tour comprising two Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is; however, the Tests have been rescheduled for May.

This will be Pakistan’s first ODI tour to Bangladesh in 11 years. On their last ODI tour in April 2015, Bangladesh won the series 3-0. Before 2015, Pakistan had remained unbeaten in 50-over cricket in Bangladesh during their March 1999, January 2002, and December 2011 tours.

2026 will be a grueling season for international cricketers. Pakistan started the year with a tour to Sri Lanka for three T20Is, before playing Australia at home in three T20Is as part of their T20 World Cup preparations. After they return from Bangladesh following their World Cup commitments, they will feature in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), which is scheduled to start on 26 March.

After the PSL, Pakistan is due to host Zimbabwe for white-ball cricket in April, travel to the West Indies for two Tests in July, and then tour England for three Tests in August. This will be followed by Sri Lanka’s full tour to Pakistan for Tests, a tri-nation ODI series, and a bilateral T20I series. Before traveling to Africa for the 50-over World Cup, Pakistan is also scheduled to host New Zealand for two Tests.

However, all this is subject to change as the PCB is considering replacing a few existing T20Is with ODIs to help the selectors finalize the 15-player squad and lock in team combinations for the World Cup. Since Test matches are part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle, changes cannot be made to that specific schedule.
