Hasnain Abbas Dar converted a good start into a half-century as England Under-19 led Pakistan Under-19 by 149 runs with nine second-innings wickets intact when stumps were drawn on the third day of the five-day one-off Youth Test in Arundel on Friday.

Hasnain resumed on 26 not out in Pakistan’s 257 for six in reply to England’s 333 and was the ninth batter to be dismissed after scoring 57. His 166-ball innings included five fours.

Seventeen-year-old Hampshire seamer Manny Lumsden added two wickets on Friday morning to finish with figures of 14.5-2-52-5, while Surrey’s 18-year-old off-spinner Ralphie Albert followed up his 88 with three for 58.

After securing a 28-run first-innings lead, England consolidated their position by reaching 121 for one, with Leo Selvey-Clinton and Isaac Mohammed adding 107 runs for the unfinished second wicket.

Selvey-Clinton was batting on 68 from 121 balls with nine fours, while Isaac Mohammed was 46 not out from 55 balls with seven fours.

Abdul Subhan took the wicket of Somerset’s 18-year-old Bertie Michael, who scored 131 in the first innings.
