KARACHI: Gull Feroza registered her second successive century as she batted Pakistan to a clean sweep of the three-match ICC Women’s Championship series against Zimbabwe at the National Bank Stadium on Saturday.

Gull Feroza followed her 50 and 100 with 106 not out as the home side achieved the 223-run target for the loss of Sadaf Shamas in 31.5 overs. Sadaf, who scored 98 and 101 in the previous matches, was dismissed for 90 when three runs were required for victory.

Gull Feroza’s 92-ball innings included 16 fours, while Sadaf struck 13 fours in a 98-ball innings. The two put on 220 runs for the first wicket after adding 162 runs in the first ODI and 189 in the second ODI.

Earlier, Zimbabwe posted 222 for nine after electing to bat first. Beloved Biza top-scored with 73 from 88 balls with 12 fours, while opener Kelis Ndhlovu scored a 72-ball 51 with eight fours. Captain Nomvelo Sibanda (35 not out) and Adel Zimunu (23) were the other notable run-scorers.

For Pakistan, Tasmia Rubab was the pick of the bowlers with three for 49, while Ayesha Zafar (two for 13) and Syeda Aroob Shah (two for 36) were the other wicket-takers.

The 3-0 series win lifted Pakistan to second in the ICC Women’s Championship points table after they joined Sri Lanka on eight points after six ODIs. New Zealand lead the table with 10 points, while Australia and South Africa are on six points apiece.

The two sides will now feature in the three-match T20I series from Tuesday.
