Four-wicket hauls by Hasan Ali and Sufyan Moqim, coupled with a captain’s century by Sahibzada Farhan, guided Pakistan Blues to a convincing six-wicket victory over Shaheen Shah Afridi’s Pakistan Gold in the second match of the National Champions Cup in Multan on Wednesday.

Hasan celebrated his 100th List-A match by returning figures of 8.3-2-32-4, while Sufyan once again showcased his outstanding talent with an impressive spell of 10-0-37-4. Their efforts helped bowl out Pakistan Gold for 212 in 45.3 overs, collapsing from a strong position of 136 for two in 27 over.

In response, Sahibzada Farhan anchored the chase with a 101-ball 102, featuring nine fours and two sixes, as Pakistan Blues reached the target with 8.2 overs to spare. Sahibzada, who completed his half-century off 54 balls with four fours and a six, was named player of the match.

Sahibzada put on 55 runs for the second wicket with Mohammad Faiq (30) after Maaz Sadaqat (9) departed with the score at 30. He then added 64 runs for the third wicket with Tayyab Tahir (35), followed by a 45-run partnership for the fourth wicket with Rohail Nazir (21 not out). Sahibzada was the fourth batter dismissed, departing at 194 when only 19 runs were required for victory from more than 12 overs.

Earlier in the day, Pakistan Gold collapsed, losing their final eight wickets for just 76 runs in 16 overs to be dismissed for 212 in 45.3 overs. The main highlights of their innings were half-centuries from Kamran Ghulam and Shamyl Hussain, who shared a 75-run second-wicket partnership spanning nearly 16 overs.

Kamran top-scored with 63 off 84 balls, including six fours and a six, while left-handed opener Shamyl made 50 off 47 balls, hitting six fours and a six. Haider Ali was the other notable contributor, scoring a 53-ball 44 with three fours and a six before being dismissed as the seventh wicket.

The pace-and-spin combination of Hasan and Sufyan claimed crucial wickets at pivotal moments to restrict Pakistan Gold to a modest total after they had comfortably reached 100 for two and later 136 for two.

Hasan Ali accounted for opener Saad Khan (9), Haider Ali, Shaheen Shah Afridi (3), and Faisal Akram (6), while Sufyan dismissed Shamyl Hussain, Khawaja Nafay (3), Abdul Samad (7), and Mohammad Imran (8).

Arafat Minhas picked up the remaining key wickets of Kamran Ghulam and Mohammad Nawaz (8).
