Centuries By Sameer And Usman For Pakistan U19

LAHORE: Sameer Minhas and Usman Khan scored centuries for Pakistan Men’s U19, but their match in the three-nation 50-over series against hosts Zimbabwe Men’s U19 ended in a no-result in Harare on Monday.

Sameer scored 142 and Usman 121 as the pair added 199 runs for the second wicket, helping Pakistan reach 354 for seven. However, rain after the innings delayed Zimbabwe’s reply, and the umpires eventually called off the match.

Sameer, who scored a swashbuckling century against India in the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup final in Dubai last week, struck 17 fours and four sixes in a 106-ball innings. Usman faced 112 balls and hit 12 fours and two sixes.

Huzaifa Ahsan also made use of the batting-friendly conditions, scoring a 53-ball 54 with three fours and two sixes. Together with Usman, he added 83 runs for the third wicket.

For Zimbabwe, new-ball bowlers Kirby Madharamete and Panashe Mazai shared five wickets between them. Madharamete finished with three for 53, while Mazai took two for 51.
