LAHORE: Anosha Nasir of the Conquerors took six wickets but her efforts were not enough to prevent the Strikers from recording a 56-run victory in the National Women’s T20 at the Ghani Glass Cricket Ground on Thursday.

Anosha recorded remarkable figures of 4-1-13-6 as the Strikers were limited to 147 for nine after being 124 for four at one stage. However, the Conquerors failed to capitalise and were dismissed for 91 in 16.5 overs, with Aleena Shah top-scoring with 31.

For the Strikers, Aliya Riaz top-scored with 40 off 24 balls, while Sadaf Shamas scored 32 and Saira Jabeen 28.

The result left Conquerors on eight points with one match remaining — against the Invincibles on Friday at the Ghani Glass Cricket Ground. A win will put them level on points with the Stars but ahead on net run-rate, securing a place in Saturday’s final against the Invincibles. If the Conquerors lose, the Stars will progress to the final instead.

In the other match, Stars handed the Invincibles their first defeat of the tournament by 37 runs at the Bagh-e-Jinnah.

Stars batted first and scored 151 for five with Huraina Sajjad scoring 37, Aisha Naeem 28 and Sidra Amin 23. For Invincibles, Momina Riasat took two for 25.

In reply, Invincibles were dismissed for 114, with Iram Javed scoring 31 and Gull Feroza 27. Ayesha Bilal was the pick of the Stars’ bowlers with three for 41, while Ayesha Rehman took two for 11.
