Opener Abubakar Khan and Abdul Wahid struck centuries to help National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) post 305 for nine against JDW on the opening day of their three-day President’s Trophy Grade-II Gold match at the UBL Sports Complex in Karachi on Sunday.

Abubakar scored 105 and Abdul Wahid 106 as the pair added 137 runs for the third wicket after NBP elected to bat first. Abubakar faced 169 balls and struck 12 fours, while Abdul Wahid’s 129-ball innings included eight fours and two sixes.

Mohammad Naeem was the other notable contributor with 58 from 89 balls, hitting seven fours and two sixes. He was involved in a 100-run second-wicket partnership with Abubakar after Aftab Ibrahim had dismissed Syed Jahangir Shah with the first ball of the match.

For JDW, Aftab finished with figures of three for 42 from 14 overs, while Hassan Aftab claimed three for 59 from 12 overs.

JDW reached 45 for one at stumps, with Ali Hamza unbeaten on 21 and Uzair Mumtaz on 13.
