Pakistan U19 Storm into Semi-Finals of Asia Cup
Pakistan U19 secured a spot in the semi-finals of the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup 2024 with a commanding 69-run victory over the United Arab Emirates U19 in a Group-A clash at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Monday.
Opener Shahzaib Khan was the star with the bat once again, smashing his second consecutive century in the tournament. His knock laid the foundation for Pakistan’s imposing total of 314. Shahzaib’s stellar innings was complemented by an explosive innings from No. 3 batter Muhammad Riazullah.
UAE U19’s chase was unraveled spectacularly under the pressure of an exceptional spell by fast bowler Abdul Subhan. Subhan tore through the middle order, finishing with figures of 10-0-57-6, earning him the Player of the Match award.
UAE collapsed at 245 for eight, falling well short of the target. Pakistan’s final Group-A match is against Japan on Wednesday at the Dubai International Sports Stadium.
