Maiden First-class Win For Sahir Associates; Noman’s 12-wicket Haul Steers Ghani Glass; Krl Rout Sbp By 10 Wickets

LAHORE: Khan Zaib and Razaullah took five wickets apiece to send OGDCL tumbling out for 91, earning debutants Sahir Associates their maiden first-class victory by 64 runs on the fourth and final day of the President’s Trophy fourth-round match at the KCCA Stadium on Sunday.

Elsewhere, KRL completed the 10-wicket drubbing of State Bank at the SBP Sports Complex. At the same time, Test spinner Noman Ali’s match haul of 12 wickets helped Ghani Glass defeat table-toppers WAPDA by 106 runs, after Ghani Glass had conceded an 81-run first-innings lead at the UBL Sports Complex.

Sahir Associates set OGDCL a victory target of 156 runs before Khan Zaib and Razaullah dismantled their more experienced opponents for 91 in 29 overs. Khan returned figures of 5-34, while Razaullah finished with 5-37.

For OGDCL, only Mohammad Sarwar Afridi offered resistance, scoring an unbeaten 41 from 53 balls (including six fours). Haroon Arshad (14) and Asif Afridi (12) were the only other batters to reach double figures.

Test spinner Noman Ali followed his first-innings figures of 24-6-59-7 with a clinical 17.3-5-45-5 to script Ghani Glass’s 106-run win over WAPDA.

WAPDA resumed the fourth morning at 108 for five in pursuit of a 243-run target but were spun out for 136. Alongside Noman’s brilliance, Test fast bowler Khurram Shahzad impressed with figures of 4-40.

KRL wrapped up a 10-wicket victory over State Bank after reaching their 41-run target in just 8.4 overs. Shahzaib Khan (25 not out) and Saad Baig (18 not out) remained unbeaten in the chase.

Earlier, State Bank added 13 runs to their overnight score of 289 for nine before being dismissed for 302. Mohammad Hamza claimed the final wicket to finish with 3-85, while Ahmed Bashir’s 5-80 proved decisive.
