The Grandest Stage: World Cup Preview

A blockbuster cricket season is set to be underway, with the World Cup commencing on October 5. The tournament is scheduled to be hosted across ten different venues in India.

Ten teams have been divided into one group, similar to the 2019 edition. Of the 13 sides participating in the ODI Super League, the top eight secured automatic qualification for the World Cup. Meanwhile, India, who finished in fourth place, earned a guaranteed spot as the host nation. Earlier this year, through the World Cup Qualifier, Sri Lanka and Netherlands secured the remaining two spots.

Warm-up matches will be held from 29 September to 3 October 2023 at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad, Assam Cricket Association Stadium in Guwahati, and Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. Pakistan is set to play New Zealand and Australia in their warm-up fixtures, set to be played on September 29 and October 3 respectively.
