Dahani, Ali & Omair Help SNGPL Put One Hand On President’s Trophy

LAHORE: Pakistan internationals Shahnawaz Dahani and Mohammad Ali led SNGPL’s fightback in the President’s Trophy final against WAPDA and put their side on the verge of victory at stumps on the third day at the Gaddafi Stadium on Tuesday.

On a day when 15 wickets fell, Dahani returned figures of 11.5-3-23-4 and Ali recorded figures of 11-5-26-4 as WAPDA were bundled out for just 96 runs in their second innings after securing a handsome 148-run lead.

When play ended, SNGPL, chasing 245 runs for victory, were 181 for four with Omair Bin Yousuf leading the run-chase with 60 not out. Omair has faced 101 balls and struck six fours and a six.

There were other useful contributions as well, with Abdul Samad scoring 39, Mohammad Rizwan 23, and Mubasir Khan batting on 21.

After SNGPL slipped to 84 for three, Omair and Rizwan added 55 for the fourth wicket, while the unbroken fifth-wicket partnership between Omair and Mubasir has yielded 42 runs.

Earlier, SNGPL had added seven runs to their overnight score of 110 to be dismissed for 117 and conceded a 148-run first-innings lead.
