LAHORE: Conquerors posted the highest total of the National Women’s One-Day Tournament and then carved out a comprehensive victory over Challengers to move to the top of the points table.

Saira Jabeen scored 90 (104b, 12×4) and put on 171 runs for the first wicket with Gull Feroza (78, 67b, 10×4) as Conquerors reached 300 for nine at the HPC Ground. Ayesha Bilal then took three for 33 and Fatima Sana claimed two for 14 as Challengers were dismissed for 152, with Ayesha Zafar scoring 65 (57b, 11×4).

This was Conquerors’ fourth win in five matches, putting them on eight points alongside Stars, who also collected two points on Saturday after defeating Strikers by seven wickets at the Iqbal Stadium. Conquerors, however, have played one fewer match and enjoy a superior net run-rate.

In contrast, Challengers are fourth in the five-team event with four points from six matches, while Strikers are now out of the race for the final after suffering their fourth defeat in five matches. Invincibles, the fifth team in the tournament, are third on six points from six matches.

Strikers batted first and scored 166 for nine, with Nareen Yaqoob scoring 58 (105b, 7×4) and Shawaal Zulfiqar contributing 34. For Stars, Anosha Nasir, Fatima Zahra and Diana Baig took two wickets apiece.

In reply, Stars achieved the target in 40.1 overs for the loss of three wickets, with Sidra Amin scoring an unbeaten 81 (116b, 6×4, 1×6) and Syeda Aroob Shah making 50 not out (47b, 5×4, 1×6). The pair added 96 runs for an unbroken fourth wicket stand.
