LAHORE: Abbottabad opener Yasir Khan scored an impressive unbeaten century against Islamabad as bowlers dominated the other four Quaid-e-Azam Trophy third-round matches that commenced on Saturday.

Yasir was 173 not out, punishing Islamabad for putting Abbottabad into bat at the Marghzar Cricket Ground, as his side reached 375 for five at stumps. His 245-ball innings is studded with 22 fours and three sixes.

After a 47-run opening stand with Shahzaib Khan (27), Yasir added 95 for the fourth wicket with Mohammad Bilal (33) after Abbottabad had slipped to 115 for three. He then put on 102 for the fifth wicket with Ahmed Khan (55), while his unbroken sixth-wicket partnership of 63 with Khayam Khan (42 not out) kept Abbottabad in control.

Wrist-spinner Jawad Ali was Islamabad’s most successful bowler with two for 133.

MULTAN V FAISALABAD

Fast bowler Aamer Yamin produced a fiery spell of 6 for 37 to put Multan in command against Faisalabad. After being sent into bat, Faisalabad were dismissed for 212.

No.8 batter Ali Shah rescued Faisalabad with a fighting 95 off 156 balls, hitting 14 fours and three sixes. He was involved in three key partnerships: 71 for the seventh wicket with Atiq ur Rehman (46), 52 for the ninth with Ahmad Saifi Abdullah (22), and 42 for the last with Shahid Ali (4 not out).

At stumps, Multan were 85 for one, with Waqar Hussain (36 not out) and Zain Abbas (28 not out) having already added 72 for the unbroken second wicket.

BAHAWALPUR V PESHAWAR

Fifteen wickets fell at the Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium where Bahawalpur, after being sent in, were bowled out for 131 but hit back strongly to reduce Peshawar to 125 for five at the close.

Mubasir Khan top-scored for Bahawalpur with an unbeaten 48 from No.6, rescuing his team after they had slumped to 56 for five. His partnerships with the lower order added 75 valuable runs.

For Peshawar, Sufiyan Moqim (3-16), Mohammad Amir Khan (3-40), and Niaz Khan (3-41) shared the wickets.

In reply, Peshawar slipped to 59 for five before Waqar Ahmed (65 not out) and Mohammad Haris (33 not out) steadied the innings.

Imran Randhawa, who earlier contributed 20 with the bat, completed a fine all-round day with four wickets for 41 runs.

LAHORE V SIALKOT

A 108-run fourth-wicket partnership between Mohsin Riaz and Ayaz Tasawar lifted Sialkot to 222 all out in 70.5 overs after Lahore opted to field first. Lahore ended the day on 35 for two.

Mohsin made 76 off 128 balls with five fours and three sixes, while Ayaz struck 52 off 68 balls with five fours and one six. Their stand took Sialkot from 64 for three to 172 for four, but they lost their last six wickets for just 50 runs.

Off-spinner Haseeb ur Rehman took four for 47, and Mohammad Abbas claimed two for 44.

Abid Ali (14) and Ubaid Shah (4) will resume Lahore’s innings on Monday morning.

KARACHI V FATA

FATA were bowled out for 313 after choosing to bat first against Karachi at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium. Half-centuries by Mohammad Farooq and Mohammad Sarwar, backed by useful middle-order contributions, took them past 300.

Farooq struck 75 off 92 balls with eight fours and three sixes, while Sarwar scored 52 off 104 balls with five fours and two sixes. Rehan Afridi (38), Khushdil Shah (34), Mohammad Salman Khan (23), and Zahid Mehmood (21) also chipped in.

For Karachi, wickets were evenly shared between Mohammad Asghar (3-47), Mushtaq Ahmed (3-78), and Saqib Khan (3-104).

Karachi faced just one over before stumps, finishing on nought without loss.
