LAHORE: Omaima Sohail produced an excellent all-round performance as Stars and Conquerors sealed spots in the National Women’s One-Day Tournament final in Faisalabad on Monday.

Omaima scored a brilliant century and followed it up with two wickets to help Stars defeat Invincibles by 69 runs at the Iqbal Stadium. Meanwhile, Umm-e-Hani claimed a four-fer and Gull Feroza struck a half-century to propel Conquerors to a six-wicket victory over Strikers at the HPC Ground.

Stars and Conquerors now have 12 points each and are beyond the reach of third-placed Invincibles. Challengers and Strikers remain in fourth and fifth positions, respectively. In the final round of league matches on Wednesday, Invincibles will take on Conquerors, while Strikers will face Challengers.

Omaima Sohail registered her first century of the tournament, scoring 127 off 131 balls with 14 fours to lift Stars to 287 for five. In a second-wicket stand with Sidra Amin (93 off 101 balls with 12 fours), Omaima added 163 runs.

In reply, Invincibles were dismissed for 218, despite a fine 84 off 91 balls from Natalia Parvaiz and 65 off 86 balls from Hafsa Khalid. The duo added 100 runs for the third wicket after Hafsa and Muneeba Ali (30) had put on 53 for the second wicket.

Omaima capped her performance with bowling figures of 2 for 33, while Syeda Masooma Zahra and Syeda Aroob Shah also took two wickets each, conceding 38 and 54 runs, respectively.

In Match 18, Umm-e-Hani registered figures of 10-1-31-4, while Ayesha Bilal and Saima Malik took two wickets apiece to bowl Strikers out for 164. Opener Shawaal Zulfiqar fought a lone battle with a gutsy 84 off 90 balls, hitting 15 fours.

In response, Conquerors chased down the target inside 30 overs for the loss of four wickets, with opener Gull Feroza scoring 66 off 54 balls (nine fours), Iram Javed hitting a run-a-ball 41 not out (eight fours), and Saira Jabeen contributing 36 off 40 balls (eight fours).
