LAHORE: Pakistan will kick-off their campaign in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 at the Sinhalese Sports Club Cricket Ground (SSC) in Colombo on Saturday, 7 February against the Netherlands as the fixtures for the 10th edition of the tournament were unveiled by the ICC.

The 2009 champions are placed alongside Namibia, Netherlands, India and the USA in Group A in the 20-team tournament.

Pakistan will face the United States of America (USA) on 10 February at the SSC before taking on India at the R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo on Sunday, 15 February. They will be up against Namibia at the SSC Cricket Ground on 18 February in their last group game.

The group stage will take place from 7-20 February before the Super Eight stage takes place from 21 February to 1 March as two teams from each group will advance to the next stage.

In the Super Eight Stage each team will play the other three teams of their group, getting three fixtures to stake a claim for the 4 and 5 March semi-finals. In Sri Lanka, the Super Eight Stage matches will be played in Colombo and Pallekele.

If Pakistan qualify, then the 4 March semi-final will take place in Colombo instead of Kolkata and the 8 March final will take place at the same venue as well instead of Ahmedabad. The 5 March semi-final is scheduled to take place in Mumbai.

Pakistan became champions of the second edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup at the Lord’s in 2009, while they were runners-up in 2007 and 2022. In 2010, 2012 and 2021 Pakistan’s campaign ended in the semi-final.

ICC U19 CRICKET WORLD CUP:

Pakistan U19 is set to face England, Scotland and Zimbabwe in their Group B fixtures of the U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2026 at the Takashinga Sports Club in Zimbabwe’s capital Harare as the ICC announced the tournament schedule.

The 16-team tournament is set to run from 15 January to 6 February across five venues in Zimbabwe and Namibia and comprises of 41 50-over matches.

The teams are divided into four groups and top three from each group will advance to a Super Six Stage where 12 teams will be divided into two groups of six as per the previous edition’s format. The Super Six Stage is set to run from 25 January to 1 February.

The tournament’s semi-finals are scheduled to take place on 3 and 4 February in Bulawayo and Harare, respectively. The final is slated for 6 February at the Harare Sports Club, Harare. The three knockout fixtures have a reserve day too.

The teams are set to take part in warm-up matches between 9 to 14 January. Pakistan have won the tournament twice in 2004 and 2006, while they ended their campaign as runners-up in 1988, 2010 and 2014.

Pakistan bagged five wins on the trot in previous edition of the tournament before losing to Australia by one wicket in the semi-final, which turned out to be last-over thriller.
