LAHORE: Aliya Riaz missed a century by three runs and Momina Riasat captured five wickets as two more matches were decided in the National Women’s One-Day Tournament in Faisalabad on Thursday.

Aliya scored 97 from 102 balls with 12 fours and three sixes as the Strikers achieved the 221-run target for the loss of seven wickets on the final ball of the match. She added 147 runs for the fourth wicket with Noreen Yaqoob (47) after the Strikers had slipped to 47 for three.

For the Conquerors, Umm-e-Hani (two for 36) and Fatima Sana (two for 40) shared wickets.

Earlier, the Conquerors were dismissed for 220 in 44.4 overs with Pakistan captain Fatima Sana top-scoring with a 45-ball 58, hitting eight fours and a six. She received decent support from opener Gull Feroza (48, 72b, 4×4), Iram Javed (28) and Saira Jabeen (22).

For the Strikers, Humna Bilal was the most successful bowler with three for 23, while Noreen Yaqoob and Ghulam Fatima took two wickets each, conceding 32 and 40 runs, respectively.

In the other match, the Invincibles’ Momina Riasat returned excellent figures of 10-2-27-5 but still ended up on the losing side as the Stars comfortably won by 70 runs at the HPC Ground .

Batting first, the Stars were all out for 214 with Sidra Amin scoring 49, Syeda Aroob Shah 40 and Gull Rukh 34. In turn, the Invincibles were bowled out for 144 in 37.5 overs with Natalia Parvaiz top-scoring with 63.

For the Stars, Diana Baig took three for 21 and Anam Amin grabbed two for 27, while Syeda Aroob Shah completed a good all-round display by claiming two wickets for 31 runs.
