Zimbabwe’s opportunity to seal a series win
Zimbabwe is on the cusp of sealing a series win against Pakistan at home. After a commanding 80-run win in the rain affected 1st ODI, Zimbabwe leads the 3-match series with 1-0.
For Pakistan, the 2nd ODI is their battle to stay alive in the series. Pakistan had last won a series against Australia in Australia and losing the very next one against Zimbabwe will stir up the pots. Their performance in the first ODI exposed vulnerabilities in both batting and bowling departments. Pakistan’s batting collapse in the opening game was a cause for concern but it did not come as a surprise as batting collapses have been rather common for the Shaheens.
As the first ODI was suspended because of rain and the result was decided on DLS, weather could play a pivotal role in the second ODI as well, with Accuweather predicting rain showers and a 26% chance of thunderstorms later in the day. This could result in another DLS intervention, making the toss even more critical.
The match will start at 12:30 PM PKT at the Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo where all the remaining matches of the tour will be played.
