Yasir Arafat Named Pakistan’s High-Performance Coach
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed former all rounder Yasir Arafat as the high-performance coach ahead of the five-match T20I series against New Zealand.
Arafat’s role is designated for a specific series, while Simon Helmot, a current fixture in the coaching staff for the ongoing Test series in Australia, will step away subsequently due to personal commitments.
On January 3, he will accompany the T20 team to Auckland, New Zealand, gearing up for the T20I series scheduled to kick off on January 12. The series will conclude with the last game on January 21.
The former Pakistan athlete has played 27 international matches which include 13 T20 matches. He was also a part of the Green Shirts’ squad that won the 2009 T20 World Cup, Cup, although he played just one match during the tournament.
