about team

Nepal’s fan following in the country is surreal – they fill in stadiums and crowd streets for local games. For a country with such a passion for the game, participating in a tournament of the stature of an Asia Cup is commendable. Their returns in the CWC Qualifiers were disappointing – one win in four games - but they certainly gained some valuable experience from it. Skipper Rohit Paudel, and wicketkeeper Aasif Sheikh are the two senior cogs of the side, and will hope to put up a fight when the stakes are high. The allround showings of Dipendra Singh Airee in the Global T20 Canada are a positive sign, and Nepal will hope that the 23 year old can continue to develop. Their bowling attack is decent on paper, led by young Sompal Kami and Sandeep Lamichhane. Nepal will hope to take away key learnings from the tournament, and give their fans moments to celebrate and cherish.
