The Multan Sultans management invited Dr Javed Mughal, the team’s chief physiotherapist, to Lahore last week to assess players who are either part of the franchise’s set-up or are in the plans for the upcoming edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League.
Dr Javed has been running a fitness assessment camp at the National Cricket Academy since Friday (8 December) in which he has worked with a dozen cricketers. The camp will conclude tomorrow (11 December).
Considering its duty of care, the Multan Sultans management extended his services to the Pakistan Cricket Board for the benefit of Pakistan Shaheens, Pakistan U19, and domestic cricketers.
Chief executive Ali Tareen: “We consider ourselves as important stakeholders of Pakistan cricket and take it as our responsibility to act in a manner that benefits the whole eco-system of the game in our country. Sticking to this philosophy, we offered all-expenses paid services of Dr Javed Mughal, a widely respected and renowned physiotherapist, to the Pakistan Cricket Board when we invited him to Lahore.
“It gave me immense pleasure to know that our rising stars in Arshad Iqbal and Zeeshan Zamir were able to benefit from Dr Javed’s presence, and Multan Sultans will also be happy to assist Sufyan Muqeem.”
Players assessed by Dr Javed are Ihsanullah, Faisal Akram, Arshad Iqbal, Zeeshan Zamir, Sirajuddin, Mohammad Sadaqat, Ali Majid, Sharoon Siraj, Humayoun Altaf, Mohammad Shahzad, Uzair Mumtaz and Israr Hussain.
