India Won’t Travel to Pakistan for 2025 Champions Trophy: BCCI

The BCCI has informed the ICC that India will not travel to Pakistan for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.

According to ESPNCricinfo, the BCCI cited a directive from the Indian government advising against sending the national team to Pakistan, citing security and diplomatic concerns.

Scheduled to take place between February 19 and March 9, the eight-team tournament was planned to be held at three venues in Pakistan. However, this development poses logistical challenges for the ICC and PCB.

A hybrid model is considered to be followed, where teams would split matches between Pakistan and a second location, with the UAE emerging as a strong candidate.

On Friday, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi explicitly ruled out the hybrid format, emphasizing that it had not been under consideration. Further discussions among ICC, PCB, and BCCI officials are expected in the coming months as they seek a feasible solution to the venue dilemma.
