+ Impressive slip catching – most catches by a non-keeper

+ Showed intent in the 2nd inns of the 2nd Test

- Too often showed technical vulnerability to movement

- Plays too many shots early on (wafting at wide ones and playing around straight ones)

Abid Ali – 3/10

73 runs, Avg. 18.3, BPD 28.0

+ Intent in the 2nd inns of the 2nd Test

- Technical vulnerability remained (feet remained rooted to one spot)

- Poor slip catching

Azhar Ali – 4/10

62 runs, Avg. 15.5, BPD 43.8

+ Played out difficult periods of play in the first Test

- Contributed to the mini-collapse in the second Test

- Inability to push on after getting set

Babar Azam – 8/10

193 runs, Avg. 48.3, SR 44.0

+ Scored runs in every innings

+ Finished as the highest run-scorer in the series

- Didn’t bring up a real big score

= Captaincy remains a work in progress but seems to be going in the right direction

Fawad Alam – 9/10

180 runs, Avg. 90.0, SR 54.1, 3 catches

+ Highest run-scorer in both of Pakistan’s first innings

+ Played a big innings that defined the game

+ Fielding was superb – 3 catches (most for a non-slip catcher)

Mohammad Rizwan – 5/10

94 runs + 11 catches, Avg. 31.3, SR 43.3

+ Useful cameos with the bat and usually safe behind the stumps

- Batting not to up to the high standards he has set for himself

- At times could have come forward while keeping, resulted in some catches dropping short

Faheem Ashraf – 6/10

99 runs + 4 wkts, Bat Avg 24.8, Bowl Avg. 29.0

+ Crucial runs with the bat

+ Key wickets and breakthroughs with the ball

- Got out at the wrong time twice in the first Test

Hasan Ali – 7/10

68 runs + 6 wkts, Bat Avg 17.0, Bowl Avg. 26.3

+ All of his wickets came with the old ball

+ Crucial runs with the bat

- Had periods where he seemed ineffective with the ball

Shaheen Shah Afridi – 9/10

18 wkts, Avg. 11.3, 1 five-fer, 1 ten-fer

+ Incisive with the new ball

+ Effective with the old ball

+ Set up batsmen very nicely, using the bouncer to good effect

Mohammad Abbas – 7/10

6 wkts, Avg. 26.0

+ Kept it tight with the new ball, allowing Shaheen to attack from the other end

+ Old ball spell in the 2nd Test 1st Inns blew the game open and started the West Indian collapse

- Had periods where he looked ineffective

Nauman Ali – 7/10

3 wkts, Avg. 17.7

+ Didn’t have much to do in the first inns but was straight away into his work when needed in the second, taking key wickets

+ Kept it very tight and didn’t concede any easy runs

- Brought in to partly beef up the batting but bagged a golden duck

Yasir Shah – 2/10

0 wkts, Econ. 3.68

- Didn’t seem to trouble the batsmen

- Conceded runs at a faster rate than any other Pakistani bowler
