Babar Azam Nominated for ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year 2024
Pakistan’s star batter and former captain Babar Azam has been nominated for the ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year award for 2024. Joining him on the shortlist are Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza, Australia’s Travis Head, and India’s Arshdeep Singh, making for a highly competitive field.
Despite a mixed year for Pakistan in the shortest format, Babar stood out with his consistent performances, amassing the most T20I runs for his team over the last 12 months.
Babar is on the cusp of making history as he inches closer to breaking Rohit Sharma’s record for the most runs in T20I cricket.
In addition to his batting exploits, Babar became the most successful Men’s T20I captain in history following Pakistan’s win over Ireland in the second T20I earlier this year.
