Australia whitewash Pakistan with a dominant win
Australia completed a comprehensive 7-wicket victory over Pakistan in the third and final T20I to seal a 3-0 series whitewash. Pakistan, despite making changes to their playing XI, failed to capitalize after opting to bowl first in what turned out to be a one-sided encounter.
After winning the toss, Pakistan had a solid start in the Powerplay, led by Babar Azam, who scored a brisk 41 off 28 balls. By the end of six overs, Pakistan had reached a comfortable 58/1.
However, the tide turned sharply when Adam Zampa came into the attack. The leg-spinner’s masterful spell of 2 for 11 in four overs triggered a dramatic collapse. Pakistan lost their last nine wickets for just 56 runs, folding for a below-par 117 in 18.1 overs.
Pakistan’s bowling attack began promisingly in their defense. Jahandad Khan utilized his variations effectively, creating pressure during the Powerplay and dismissing both Jake Fraser-McGurk and Matthew Short early.
Marcus Stoinis unleashed a brutal counterattack, hammering a stunning 61 off 27 balls, including a massive 22-run over against Haris Rauf. Stoinis’ explosive innings ensured that the chase was a formality, as Australia reached the target in just 11.2 overs, with 52 balls to spare.
